Berlin-based illustrator and comic artist Rinah Lang presents her comic debut, Peri Meno: an exciting look at the menopause that tells an authentic and relatable personal story, making this complex topic accessible.

About the book:

The menopause often begins earlier than expected and can turn your life upside down. In the madness of everyday life, hormonal changes can be the last straw.

Rinah Lang tells the story of this phase of life with all its challenges in a clever, entertaining and informative way. She passionately searches for connections, visits experts and engages in lively exchanges with friends. The result is a new clarity that makes you want to ask yourself your own questions.

Rinah Lang studied illustration in the Netherlands and Scotland and lived in Paris for a while before moving to Berlin, where she now lives. She works as an illustrator for magazines and newspapers and has also been working on books for several years. She shares her studio with many creative colleagues, with whom she greatly enjoys exchanging ideas. She prefers to work with ink, coloured pencils, scissors and paper – even though she often finds that digital work is sometimes more practical.

The evening will be moderated by journalist and comic expert Gesa Ufer (Deutschlandfunk Kultur).
