Local colour whilst shopping

While permanent establishments such as the Arminius-Markthalle and Markthalle Neun in Berlin's Kreuzberg district spoil visitors with all sorts of local delicacies and authentic street food, you will often find some real surprises at the city's many flea markets. The antiques and book market at the Bodemuseum even has Art Deco furniture and lots of useful accessories with a vintage touch. Book titles that have long been out of print will also tempt you to make a purchase. A visit to the flea market at the Mauerpark is a must, simply because of its historically significant location. Design markets such as the Nowkoelln Flowmarkt and the Handmade Designmarkt are sure to break new creative ground in your style. Markets are always a great spot to meet like-minded people and things others might consider junk can be just what you've been looking for.
