The capital's Japanese culture and design event
Design market with a cultural program, creative workshops, and culinary delights
The diversity of Berlin’s Japanese community makes this event a vibrant celebration of Japanese culture and cuisine. Visitors can expect a wide range of offerings in art, culture, design, fashion, music, and lifestyle centered around the Land of the Rising Sun.
A diverse cultural program invites you to get to know both traditional and modern Japan and to discover the diversity and adaptability of this unique culture.
In the workshop areas, guests have the opportunity to experience Japanese arts and crafts firsthand. In shodo workshops, they can try their hand at the art of Japanese calligraphy. Origami workshops also open the door to the fascinating world of Japanese paper art.
In the print workshops, guests create personalized works of art for their own homes, themed to match the respective events.
Tastings offer insights into the world of Japanese sake and Japanese cuisine. There’s plenty for young guests to enjoy as well: a colorful children’s program invites them to get creative—from painting T-shirts with Japanese motifs to designing Pokémon cards.
