The trombone class at the Dresden University of Music is led by Professor Jan Donner. On stage, they present the full spectrum of trombone sounds – from the contrabass trombone to the alto trombone.

Students from all degree programs (Performing, Master's, Instrumental Pedagogy) showcase nuanced tones and a confident stylistic range. The program spans from the early Baroque through the Classical and Romantic periods to the present day – featuring original works and concise arrangements. The ensemble size varies depending on the piece: quartet, sextet, and octet.

Characteristic features include a rich, resonant ensemble sound, clear phrasing, and vibrant articulation. The concert in the village church makes this diversity immediately tangible – from chamber music dialogues to full, rich ensemble sound.
