The Bruno Henze Guitar Ensemble opens its annual concert with music from the sunny south, featuring pieces by the Italians Girolamo Frescobaldi and Mauro Giuliani, as well as the spirited bullfighting music of Siegfried Behrend. The ensemble then continues its musical journey through Austria and Germany.

The program includes the Minuet from Mozart's Jupiter Symphony and J.S. Bach's "Jesus bleibet meine Freude" (Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring). A detour takes them to Ireland, home to the "Connemara Suite" by the blind harpist Turlough O'Carolan. The final destination is Norway. From his travels to Scandinavia, a region that deeply impressed him with its vastness, Bruno Henze brought back "Norwegian Folk Melodies." These melodies reflect the breathtaking landscape and the joyful people who inhabit it.

The program includes the Minuet from Mozart's Jupiter Symphony and J.S. Bach's "Jesus bleibet meine Freude" (Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring). Music by Girolamo Frescobaldi, Turlough O’Carolan, Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Mauro Giuliani, Siegfried Behrend, and Bruno Henze
