The Imperial era, two world wars, the division and reunification of Germany, and the pandemic – a century full of upheavals, crises, hopes, and new opportunities lies behind us all. Throughout all these phases, making music together, especially singing, has been and remains a source of spiritual strength: a form of perseverance, joy, and reflection in challenging times.
Four Berlin chamber choirs create a musical mosaic in this context:
They present works by Berlin and international composers who engage with these historical experiences in diverse ways. In changing, cross-choir formations, a rich tapestry of sounds emerges, spanning an impressive musical arc across 125 years of Berlin's urban and choral history.
