A multisensory deep-sea excursion with literature and science

Who has truly known the ocean? […] To glimpse this world of water, so familiar to its inhabitants, we must shed our human notions of length, breadth, time, and space and enter, indirectly, into a universe of omnipresent water. — Rachel Carson

A journey into the deep sea and into our perception: In an experimental reading, Felix Sattler combines literature, science, and sound into a multisensory deep-sea excursion. Together, participants journey from the surface to the ocean floor, sinking ever deeper along evocative passages from deep-sea literature.

A specially composed, immersive soundscape accompanies this movement as a slow downward spiral, while meditative prompts invite us to deepen our perception and imagination. The result is a sensory approach to non-human habitats.
