Forty-year-old Milan has three children and works in construction in Germany to support his family in Slovakia. During a visit to his homeland over Christmas, he discovers that his eldest son Adam is a member of a paramilitary youth group. The boy is involved in bullying and the death of a classmate. The father must decide what to do. In the process, he and his wife uncover the truth about their son, their family, themselves and the community around them.

Marko Škop is known for his sensitive observations of human destinies. His initial focus was on documentary films, in which he told stories with a profound message through detailed character portrayals. His films have always appealed to a wide audience, from laymen to experts. The film ‘Let There Be Light’ was no exception.
