Sexuality is a central part of human identity, representing pleasure, intimacy and diversity – and is often difficult to capture in words. Influenced by culture, education, media, film and television, our image of sexuality is constantly changing.
The exhibition highlights how conversations, role models and perceptions of sexuality have changed over the last 100 years.
It invites visitors to reflect on sexuality, intimacy and social norms, to discover with curiosity and to engage in open dialogue about the ‘most beautiful thing in the world’.
In doing so, it opens up a space for reflection, curiosity and dialogue about the most beautiful thing in the world.
In seven interactive areas, visitors are invited to explore topics such as ‘language and sexuality’, ‘sex education’, “boundaries” and ‘media lust’. In each area, they can reflect on how sexuality is perceived by society and how the media and legal regulations influence personal sexual life.
In the ‘Let's Talk’ area, for example, the use of terms and feelings related to sexuality is conveyed in a playful way. The museum promotes open communication and education on sexual topics and invites visitors to question their own experiences and gain new perspectives.
