26th Jazz and Blues Days Lichterfelde: Grooving Blues & Nordic Coolness
Together with her Finnish bandmates Jonne Kulluvaara (guitar) and Jaska Prepula (bass), as well as German drummer Micha Maass, Kat is finally bringing their sound to German stages. Audiences can expect powerful, groovy blues with Nordic coolness, Texan fire, and Berlin joie de vivre – a band that doesn't just play, but lives what they love.

Born in Texas and raised in Ohio, singer and harmonica player Kat Baloun has lived in Berlin for many years – and regularly brings a breath of fresh air to the European blues scene.
Even as a teenager, after initial classical violin lessons, she discovered her love for the blues. Her passion was stronger than any etiquette, and so she traded her violin for the harmonica and found her distinctive voice, a blend of raw energy, soul, and deeply felt joy.
Their current album, recorded live in Finland in 2023, captures exactly this energy: honest, direct, full of groove.
