About JACOTÉNE
“I used to think people could read my mind. Now I want the world to know what I’m striving for—I’m going to show them.”
Born in Melbourne and now living in London, 19-year-old JACOTÉNE is a singer-songwriter who blends soul, alt-R&B, jazz, and pop in her music. Influenced by artists like Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, and the greats of classic soul, she sang in church choirs from an early age and listened her way through her family’s record collection. That’s how she learned to blend raw emotions with timeless storytelling.
After winning Triple J’s Unearthed High Contest and being signed by Sony, JACOTÈNE moved to the other side of the world and began making her mark. Her debut EP, “Untitled (Read My Mind),” recorded in Miami during her first studio sessions, showcases her powerful vocals across six tracks in which she explores themes of love, change, and self-discovery. Highlights of the EP include “Stop Calling” (produced by Grammy Award winner J Moon) and the tender ballad “Forgive Me.” She then released “Why’d You Do That?”—the track that earned her a nomination at the ARIA Awards for Best Soul/R&B—and already has more songs ready for release, including “Leave Me,” with which she continues to expand her sound and vision.
Fresh off her first European tour, which included shows in Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Romania, and France, JACOTÉNE delivered more exceptional performances: two shows in London, CHANEL’s Métiers d’Art Collection, as well as support shows for Tems in Sydney and Melbourne, for Pa Salieu in London, and for G Flip in Melbourne and Adelaide. Her special energy makes her shows unique experiences.
JACOTÉNE’s time has clearly come. Be there on June 25 at “Sommer am THF” and see for yourself what she has in store!
