The band is led by Torsten Zwingenberger on drums and percussion—a master of his craft, equally at home in jazz and swing, and known to many as a virtuoso accompanist in blues and boogie-woogie.

At his side are three equally brilliant musicians: Patrick Braun on saxophone, whose powerful and warm tone immediately captivates; Kenneth Berkel on piano, who shines with elegant ease and playful energy; and Carmelo Leotta on bass, whose earthy, precise sound and unmistakable groove form the foundation of the quartet.

Their shared motto follows the famous premise of Blue Note founder Alfred Lion, who fled Germany: “It must schwing.” And that’s exactly what it does—with modern swing, hard bop, cool jazz, Brazilian flavors, and funky soul jazz. The repertoire combines classics from the American Songbook with the musicians’ own compositions.
