In an era marked by ideological polarization and an increasingly fragmented public discourse, Louis Chapheau’s *FACES* explores, through a multitude of expressive portraits, the potential of empathy as a force capable of bridging differences and restoring human connections.

Each of his paintings is populated by a dense array of figures rendered through spontaneous line work, vibrant colors, drips of paint, symbolic imagery, and playful distortions. Together, these faces form a visual language that reflects the complexity, contradictions, and emotional intensity of contemporary life.

Rather than positioning himself outside these social tensions, Chapheau uses painting as a process of self-reflection. The works acknowledge the artist’s own place within systems of division while simultaneously proposing openness, curiosity, and compassion as alternatives to separation.

FACES invites viewers to look beyond labels and prejudices, thereby fostering an encounter with individuality, vulnerability, and our shared humanity.

Due to its great success, the exhibition has been extended through August 22, 2026.
