New Research - Lectures and Discussion
Little is known about daily life in Berlin’s forced-labor camps. Two new research studies provide important insights.
In his master’s thesis, Fabian Dietrich analyzed daily life in the camps: How did the inmates use these spaces, and what structures did they have to contend with? He primarily analyzed diaries written by those affected and investigative files from the Nazi authorities.
Friederike Brückner is an archaeologist. She has examined remnants of clothing found in the vicinity of the accommodation camps at Tempelhofer Feld. In her master’s thesis, she relates these findings to historical sources.
