Dérive – Bon anniversaire Pierre Boulez!

Vladimir Jurowski has been chief conductor and artistic director of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra since 2017 and has extended his contract until 2027. In parallel, he has been General Music Director of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich since 2021.


Vladimir Jurowski, a conductor, pianist and musicologist, began his training at the conservatory in Moscow. In 1990 he came to Germany, where he continued his studies at the music academies in Dresden and Berlin. He made his debut in 1995 at the British Wexford Festival with Rimsky-Korsakov's "May Night" and in the same year at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden with "Nabucco".

Jurowski was First Kapellmeister of the Komische Oper Berlin (1997-2001) and Music Director of the Glyndebourne Festival Opera (2001-2013). In 2003 he was appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and was its Principal Conductor from 2007 to 2021.
