Amir, of German-Iraqi origin, comes under police scrutiny after a suspected Islamist attack in Berlin-Neukölln, in which his friend Yusuf, an investigative journalist, was killed and is suspected of being the perpetrator.

To prove his and Yusuf's innocence, he sets off with Emma, a Berlin native, for Paris, Yusuf's last place of residence, where he was investigating an international right-wing populist conspiracy.
Bianca Schaalburg, born in Berlin in 1968, studied visual communication at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she drew cartoons and illustrated her first children's books. She works as a freelance illustrator for publishers, editorial offices and agencies and has been working almost exclusively on comic projects since 2018. Her political comic Emma und Amir was named Youth Book of the Month for January 2026 by the German Academy for Children's and Youth Literature.
