Berlin Symphony Orchestra & Orchestra Conservatorio die Potenza
On 2 May 2026 at 8 p.m., audiences at the Konzerthaus Berlin can look forward to an extraordinary concert evening entitled ‘Beethoven & More’.
The Berliner Symphoniker will perform together with the Orchestra del Conservatorio di Potenza ‘Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa’ and present a programme that will delight classical music lovers with its energy, virtuosity and orchestral brilliance.
The concert will open with Gioachino Rossini's lively overture to the opera ‘Il barbiere di Siviglia,’ which immediately transports the audience into the world of Italian opera with its esprit and spirited verve.
The centrepiece of the evening is Ludwig van Beethoven's rarely heard Triple Concerto for violin, cello and piano – an extraordinary work that combines chamber music sophistication with symphonic grandeur. Three outstanding soloists shape this musical dialogue: violinist Molly Salvemini, internationally acclaimed cellist Mischa Maisky and pianist Shiran Wang. Together, they unfold Beethoven's rich and virtuoso score into an intense musical experience.
The crowning finale is Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, a work of overwhelming rhythmic energy and rousing dynamism that Richard Wagner once described as the ‘apotheosis of dance’. Under the baton of Sascha Maisky, the orchestra unfolds the full power and expressive depth of this famous symphony.
