About Wataru Hisasue:
Born in Kyoto, Japan, pianist Wataru Hisasue has received numerous awards, including third prize and the special prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned work at the 66th ARD International Music Competition, second prize at the renowned Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, and two special prizes awarded by the jury (the Liszt-Bartók Prize and the Beethoven Prize of G. Henle Publishers). ARD International Music Competition, second prize at the renowned Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, two special prizes awarded by the jury (the Liszt-Bartók Prize and the Beethoven Prize of G. Henle Publishers) at the 16th Concours Géza Anda, first prize and the audience prize at the 7th Concours International de Piano de Lyons, and first prize and the special prize ‘German Pianist Prize’ awarded by the International Piano Forum Frankfurt at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition in 2016.
He has given numerous concerts in Germany, Japan, France, Spain, Finland, Belgium and the Netherlands, among other countries. He has performed at the Konzerthaus Berlin, Kioi Hall in Tokyo, Salle Cortot in Paris and has accepted numerous invitations to various festivals, including the AUDI Music Festival, Schwetzinger SWR Festival, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, Fringe Festival in Torroella de Montgri (Spain) and ‘Prèmiere Rencontre autour du piano’ in Guadeloupe, where he gave two piano recitals and a master class. As a soloist, he has performed with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the Musikkollegium Winterthur, among others.
