Basketball for Everyone at Kranzler Eck
To mark the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, the district office is organizing a series of free events that will highlight women’s basketball.

We own the Game
The series kicks off on April 25, 2026, with the event “We Own the Game – ChaWi goes Basketball” at Kranzler Eck Berlin.
Starting at 12:00 p.m., visitors can look forward to a varied program featuring a 3x3 tournament, music, a wheel of fortune with attractive prizes, and the opportunity to try wheelchair basketball. There will also be an autograph session with professional basketball player Svenja Brunckhorst.
From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., passersby can learn about training and career opportunities at the district office.
Starting at 2:00 p.m., a panel discussion will take place with representatives from administration, business, and politics, featuring not only Svenja Brunckhorst but also Ms. Schmitt-Schmelz, District Councilor for Schools, Sports, Continuing Education, and Culture.
The event is organized by the district’s Economic Development Office in collaboration with Kranzler Eck Berlin, Sport365 Community, and the Berlin Basketball Association (BBV) and ends at 6:00 PM.
Starting at 7:00 p.m., the annual summer cinema at Kranzler Eck Berlin will open its doors. The film *Love & Basketball* starts at 8:00 p.m.
“We Own the Game – ChaWi goes Basketball” is being held in cooperation with visitBerlin and is supported by grants for “Special Tourism Projects in the Districts” from the Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises.
