The Romanisches Café was not only a gathering place for artists; it also served as a source of inspiration for prints and paintings by Lesser Ury, Max Slevogt, Rudolf Schlichter, Jeanne Mammen, Emil Orlik, and many others.

The Berlin Secession organized exhibitions in the rooms above the café. In the same building, the family that ran the café opened a modern bar where visitors could also purchase works of art.
