Concerts with Roman references by Vivaldi, Locatelli and others
This concert takes us to Rome – the cultural center of Europe around 1700. In the 17th and early 18th centuries, Rome was a projection screen and mirror of European musical culture.
The great masters met in Rome, brought influences with them, absorbed impulses, and shaped a distinctive style. Although many of the influential musicians were not originally from Rome, a unique musical expression developed there.
