Gerd Steinmöller House of Artists at the Spandau Citadel

The studios and workshops at Spandau Citadel invite you to visit.

The artists and artisans who have their studios and workshops in House 4, the Gerd Steinmöller Artists’ House at the Citadel, look forward to offering interested visitors a rich and varied artistic experience during the open studios and workshops spread across three floors of the building.

There is much to discover regarding painting, graphic art, sculpture, and other artistic techniques; the artists are happy to answer questions about their working methods and anything else directly.

House 4 is known for its great diversity: a glass engraving workshop sits next to a textile workshop; leather bags are crafted and displayed; in the two restoration workshops, you can learn about the various areas of work; and in the photo studio, sculptures can also be admired.

Other highlights of the tour include the Klangholz e.V. instrument-making workshop, the puppet theater (free viewing + 4:00 PM performance with admission), and the Bat Cellar. Artistic ceramics are on display in the Kronprinz Bastion area.

So there’s plenty to see and marvel at. Many items are also available for purchase. A great Sunday outing for all art lovers and citadel explorers.
