Works by Beethoven, Wagner, and Schumann
Encountering Richard Wagner's music was a formative experience for Nikolay Lugansky – the Russian pianist began exploring the composer's soundscapes on the piano at an early age.
For his debut at the Pierre Boulez Saal, Nikolay Lugansky will perform his own transcriptions from Götterdämmerung, juxtaposing them with Liszt's impressive piano arrangement of Isolde's Liebestod with works by Beethoven and Schumann.
