Silent film experience with live music

On 30 January 2025, the Tertianum Residence Berlin invites the public to immerse themselves in the world of Charlie Chaplin.

Chaplin's touching films, ‘The Tramp’ and ‘The Immigrant’, will be shown on a large screen in the atrium of the exclusive retirement home, with live musical accompaniment by Charlotte Maclet (violin) and Camille Phelep (piano).

Musicians:

Born in France, Charlotte Maclet is a chamber musician through and through. She loves playing music with people she loves, which is why she founded and directs the Camerata Alma Viva, a string ensemble of 16 European musicians.

Camille Phelep, born in Rennes, France, has been living in Berlin since 2013. She studied at the conservatories of Rennes and Boulogne-Billancourt (France) and at the ‘Haute Ecole de Musique’ in Geneva. She then taught piano in France (Achères, Yvelinnes), later at the ‘Conservatoire Populaire de Musique de Genève’ in Switzerland, and now in Berlin at the ‘Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg’ music school.

Venue:

Top-class cultural events take place regularly at the Berlin Tertianum senior residence. What makes it special is that it is not a private event, but rather a public event format for which anyone interested can purchase tickets. With a silent film afternoon with live music ‘The Violin of Mr. Chaplin’ and more than 100 other events a year, the Tertianum Residence proves time and again that culture connects generations.
