A night of multi-channel acousmatic music.
This evening presents a concert of multi-channel sound works by nine composers, unfolding across a shared loudspeaker system in a focused listening setting. The program brings together contrasting approaches to sound, space, and musical form, highlighting points of aesthetic intersection as well as divergence.
Rather than a single stylistic line, the works explore different relationships to texture, gesture, noise, rhythm, and spatial movement. Some pieces lean toward musical composition, others toward sound art or electroacoustic collage; all are conceived specifically for listening through loudspeakers in space.
Curated collaboratively by two of the participating composers (Giovanni Verga and Michael Berentsen), the program is shaped as a continuous arc with attention to pacing, variation, and flow. The concert invites attentive listening, while leaving room for informal conversation and exchange afterward.
