Twenty-eight Protestant descendants of the Jewish philosopher Moses Mendelssohn rest in the cemeteries in front of Hallesches Tor.

Since 2013, a permanent exhibition in the former chapel has commemorated the work of the extended family with 26 biographical and 24 thematic photo-text panels and over 300 illustrations – including numerous reproductions of previously unseen documents and portraits of bankers, artists, educators, and scholars who influenced over 150 years of German-Jewish history.
