To mark the 85th anniversary of the German invasion of the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941, the museum is once again presenting the exhibition *1941: Letters from June*.

Unread field post from Kamianets-Podilskyi, which was curated in 2016 in collaboration with the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II in Kyiv.

The exhibition focuses on the last emptying of the mailbox at the Kamianets-Podilskyi post office. The letters were never delivered due to the outbreak of war.

Confiscated by the German occupation administration, they ended up as spoils of war at the Postal Museum in Vienna. After their return to Ukraine, this unique collection is now housed at the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II in Kyiv.

Selected letters provide striking insights into the emotional worlds of Red Army soldiers as well as the residents of the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi during the first days of the German invasion in southwestern Ukraine.

For this new presentation, the exhibition was expanded in close collaboration with the Kamianets-Podilskyi State Historical Museum to include new findings on the city’s history in the context of the German war of annihilation.
