When King Frederick William IV ascended the throne in June 1840, Sanssouci Palace became the summer residence of a Prussian monarch for the second time in its history.

After the royal living quarters were furnished, the king had the palace’s side wings expanded. From then on, the west wing housed the apartments of royal guests as well as the ladies-in-waiting to Queen Elisabeth of Prussia. In addition to the original suite of rooms, the Ladies’ Wing now also features exhibits from the palace’s period of royal use in the 19th century.
This special opening offers guests the exclusive opportunity to explore the Ladies’ Wing as part of special guided tours.
