IRISH RACEDAY 2026

The highlight of the race day is the Comer Group International 55th Oleander Race, the most important and valuable race for long-distance specialists in German horse racing. The longest race of the Berlin season lasts three and a half minutes and covers an extreme 3,200 metres - 850 metres of the Hoppegarten straight track, then a full lap of 2,350 metres.

Oleander was the kind of racehorse you could only dream of: fast and easy to ride, uncomplicated and willing to go to the absolute limit. A rock in the surf. He won the Grand Prix of Baden three times and his winnings totalled 580,950 marks, which was a lonely record for over 40 years, despite the economic crisis, inflation, war, currency reform and later rising race prices. In addition, our guests can look forward to a lively musical program: Right at the start of the race day, traditional Irish songs and pop hits will be performed, bringing the unique atmosphere of Ireland to Hoppegarten. Afterwards, the Bigband Köpenick will take over the music pavilion in the beer garden, providing live music for a fantastic mood.

A wide variety of gastronomic offerings is available: from numerous beverage stands and a stylish champagne bar to classic grill dishes, fries and currywurst, coffee and cake specialties, as well as Austrian alpine delicacies, international cuisine, and the popular Florida ice cream.

The young guests are also well taken care of on Irish Raceday: a varied children’s program with face painting, a bouncy castle, pony rides, and the popular children’s race ensures bright smiles and lots of fun. Families are warmly invited to enjoy a relaxed day on the spacious lawns of the racecourse – ideal for a cozy picnic right next to the track and in the heart of the action.
