The film essay INVISIBLE PEOPLE focuses on dancers who embody Japanese Butoh, translating the intensity of this extraordinary art form into images that are as powerful as they are poetic.

Contemporary Butoh dance, which originated in Japan in the 1950s, is a cosmos of expression full of contrasts: controlled and meditative, yet sensual, vibrant, and at times grotesque.

To this day, it is carried on by outstanding masters—an art form as multifaceted and profound as life itself.
