Aron Weise is an electric bassist from Berlin with a deep passion for jazz, hip-hop, and R&B. For his debut album, “Fragments,” Weise brought some of his favorite musicians from Berlin’s jazz and hip-hop scenes into the studio. The album features Igor Osypov on guitar, Paul Andrew on saxophone, Joshua Milo on keys, and Jannik Kerkhof on drums. Rapper Rapturous Apollo Helios, known from the legendary Berlin hip-hop event The Swag Jam, also appears on two tracks.

The album was recorded and mixed by Felix Seefluth at Junction Studios in Berlin and mastered by Bernhard Range at Schaltgerätestudios in Werder. The music is influenced by artists such as Robert Glasper, Roy Hargrove, and Pino Palladino, as well as by the sound of the London nu-jazz scene featuring musicians like Alfa Mist and Yussef Dayes.
Weise’s compositions take a modern, groove-oriented approach to jazz and improvised music, blending influences from various genres in a fresh and exciting way.
