The Forum’s Forum

The mini-sessions creatively explore artistic questions within local and global contexts. A 180-minute journey around the world with opportunities for casual conversation in between.

The International Forum is a platform for global exchange, a catalyst for collaborations, alliances, and the search for diverse, local perspectives on various global issues. Since 1965, emerging artists from every continent have gathered here in Berlin to watch theater together, reflect, experiment, and forge connections.

The International Forum takes place in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut, the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media, and Sport, and Kultur | lx - Arts Council Luxembourg. It is supported by the German Stage Association.

Additional sponsors in 2026 include the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion, the Hamburg Authority for Culture and Media, the Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Art and Culture, the Department of Culture of the City of Munich, the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture, the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony, the State Chancellery and Ministry of Culture of Saxony-Anhalt, and the Thuringian Ministry of Education, Science, and Culture. This initiative is co-financed by tax revenues based on the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament.
