Works by Milhaud, Gounod, Zemlinsky, and Raff
In recent years, Emmanuel Pahud, principal flautist of the Berlin Philharmonic and professor at the Barenboim-Said Academy, has developed several extraordinary concert programs with students and performed them in the Pierre Boulez Hall.
This year, too, a journey of discovery awaits:
Rare works for woodwind instruments take center stage – colorful miniatures by Darius Milhaud and Alexander Zemlinsky meet large-scale wind symphonies by Charles Gounod and the long-forgotten German composer Joachim Raff, whose work is increasingly receiving renewed attention.
PROGRAM
- Darius Milhaud - La Cheminée du Roi René for wind quintet, Op. 205
- Charles Gounod - Petite Symphonie for wind instruments
- Alexander Zemlinsky - Humoresque for wind quintet
- Joachim Raff - Sinfonietta for wind instruments, Op. 188
