On August 22, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the square will transform into an open-air festival venue featuring live music, talks, cultural activities, and hands-on experiences for the whole family. The program is aimed at radio fans as well as neighbors and anyone looking forward to a fun-filled day outdoors.
Planned events include live concerts and DJ sets, discussions with prominent guests, and meet-and-greets with hosts and other program producers from Deutschlandfunk Kultur. In addition, guided tours of the Funkhaus will be offered, providing insights into the work behind the microphones.
Families will also find plenty to enjoy: a children’s program and various hands-on activities invite visitors to explore and experiment. Food trucks and beverage stands on the festival grounds will provide refreshments.
