26th ILB | Mapuche Literature in the Cities
With *Piñen* and *Chilco*, Daniela Catrileo presents two new volumes of prose: a collection of stories about Mapuche girls on the outskirts of Santiago, and a fable about a couple fleeing a crumbling city.
In her writing, Catrileo weaves indigenous concepts and cosmologies into tropical fever dreams about colonialism, capitalism, and the question of what comes next. In Mapudungun, the author finds words whose meanings elude other languages.
