What images of masculinity shape our thinking and behaviour – and what consequences do they have? How are young people socialised within different cultural and religious communities? What particular challenges do they face?

Two workshops will explore how notions of masculinity arise and why some of them can be problematic for everyone involved.
Together with the young participants, Antonio Batinovic and cultural journalist Julian Theilen will take part in a round-table discussion to explore the expectations placed on ‘male roles’ and what alternatives might be possible. The focus will be on finding ways to create space for closeness, respect and authenticity.

Antonio Batinović (born 1995), known as @realbatiwutschi, is a German content creator who reaches over 600,000 people on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
Julian Theilen (born 1992) is a German cultural journalist. He has been a features editor at WELT since 2025, and is also active as a podcaster and social media observer.
