For nearly 10 years, the Max Reger Choir has been enriching Berlin’s choral scene.

As a demanding amateur choir specializing in Romantic and contemporary music under the direction of Thorsten Putscher, it consistently sets exciting new standards with its often thematically conceived concerts, ranging from rarely performed works of the late Romantic period to the world premieres of commissioned compositions.

For larger projects (e.g., Brahms’ Requiem, Robert Schumann’s oratorio “Das Paradies und die Peri”), it collaborates with the Symphonic Chamber Orchestra Berlin (SKOB).

The 2026 Spring Concert is themed “Nun, Ihr Musen, genug!” (Now, O Muses, Enough!). The focus is on Robert Schumann’s setting of Heinrich Heine’s song cycle “Dichterliebe, arranged for four-part choir and piano accompaniment. This work is framed by three songs each by Edward Elgar and Lili Boulanger, as well as a piece by Johannes Brahms.
