Maren Wienigk, curator of the Architecture and Ornament Collection, and Michael Lailach, curator of the Book Art Collection, will talk with their guests about new and old books.

Ninth guest: The medium of the book runs through the oeuvre of artist Bernhard Garbert in the form of sketchbooks, notebooks, and artist’s books.

Of particular interest to him is not only the visual presence of the word and its illustration, but also the fluidity and permeability of the book as a medium: the act of flipping back and forth, the way light shines through and permeates the pages and the book’s covers.
