Early sound films and Nazi film policy (1929-1936)
The first sound films hit cinemas in 1929, including "Die Nacht gehört uns" (The Night Belongs to Us) starring Hans Albers and Charlotte Ander. From 1933 onwards, Nazi film policy led to the expulsion of numerous filmmakers.
