The Coolest Read for the Hottest Summer: "Bodenlose Fahrt"

A ship in the ice. An engineer who doesn’t know whether he’s moving—or standing still. Hartmut Wegler follows the “Alemania” into a sea without borders, where fog and silence weigh heavier than any wave.

The route is clear, the destination uncertain. And the further they venture, the more they lose their sense of perspective: space, time, trust. Caught between camaraderie and mistrust, routine and a looming abyss, Wegler searches for his course—until the Arctic Ocean itself becomes a trap.

Reading from *Bodenlose Fahrt* with the author and polar science journalist Jens Grandt.
