Members of the Berliner Philharmoniker as guests at the PalaisPopulaire
In this concert breakfast of the popular series “Workshop.Dialogue.Music.”, cellist Dietmar Schwalke (baroque cello) and double bassist Ulrich Wolff (viola da gamba) will lead you on a captivating journey into the enchanting realm of French Baroque music. In keeping with the Berliner Philharmoniker's seasonal theme, "Heroes," they will bring to life the often-unsung heroes of this musical era with the exquisite tones of period instruments.
Monsieur de Sainte-Colombes was a French composer and a brilliant gambist, who has had a significant influence on the development of this instrument. To this day, his identity has not been clearly established. Further works will be performed by Marin Marais, Antoine Forqueray and François Couperin.
In the chamber music series “Workshop.Dialogue.Music.” at the PalaisPopulaire, members of the Berliner Philharmoniker introduce themselves and their instruments and talk in a relaxed atmosphere about the works presented, their interpretations, and their approach. Questions and a dialogue with the audience are expressly encouraged!
A complimentary guided tour following the concert through the exhibition The Struggle of Memory. Deutsche Bank Collection is included in the ticket.
