“Living Light” captures sounds from afar: flickering, sometimes dangerous light meets filtered sounds; a serene luminosity arises from the interplay of two independently held bows, while dark light explores the cello almost exclusively on the fourth string.

Ritual and ecstatic moments intertwine with “detuned,” fantastical multiple chords that seem to emerge from nowhere, unfolding a fragile, idiosyncratic beauty.

Christina Meißner, cello solo, performs works by John Palmer, Lisa Streich, Christina Meißner (premiere), and Martin Rane Bauck.
