Works by Mozart, Weber and Gür
In the 18th century, composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart incorporated sounds reminiscent of "Turkish music" into works such as The Abduction from the Seraglio – the opera will premiere at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in June 2026.
In the Staatskapelle Berlin's second concert, Tim Fluch will conduct Mozart's "Prague Symphony" as well as Effaced Figures by Ege Gür, who won the 2024 European Composition Prize and combines 20th-century musical influences with traditional Turkish sound and rhythmic worlds.
The program will be complemented by Carl Maria von Weber's Second Clarinet Concerto.
