ADAMELLO QUARTETT
For decades, Szymon Laks' Second String Quartet was considered lost – like so many works that were lost in the wake of persecution by the Nazi regime.
It was only thanks to the meticulous research of a Polish musicologist and ongoing digitisation that a sensation was made: a complete set of parts was discovered in the library of the CNSM Paris.
The Adamello Quartet has the honour of bringing this work back to life after more than 90 years. For the Sunday concert on 3 May, the four musicians have also chosen two of their favourite pieces: Mendelssohn's String Quartet in E flat major, Op. 12, and Brahms' String Quartet No. 3 in B flat major, Op. 67.
Look forward to a special programme in which a long-lost work is brought back to life alongside two Romantic masterpieces in a fresh interpretation by the Adamello Quartet.
