Sound in the Garden, 2026
British sound designer and music producer Sam Slater won that Chernobyl Grammy alongside Guðnadóttir. His electronic productions process acoustic instruments and field recordings until they shatter and blossom into metallic nightmares: the sound of the failing machinery that keeps this world running.
Slauson Malone 1 is the music and performance project of multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and visual artist Jasper Marsalis. Anxieties of modern life are absorbed and reproduced in a collage-like manner. Rapid shifts between fragmented jazz loops and lo-fi punk are structured by soulful vocals and melodies. These cut-and-paste performances follow the logic of a fast-paced, unpredictable variety show and are—almost by accident—a lot of fun.
