Gabriel Fauré, who had recognized Lili Boulanger’s extraordinary ear and talent early on, sought in his Requiem, Op. 48, to portray death as peaceful and comforting.
The chorus soloists of the Komische Oper Berlin, named “Chorus of the Year” for the 2024/25 season by the magazine “Opernwelt,” under the direction of chorus director David Cavelius, perform late Romantic masterpieces of French sacred music with nuance and depth.
With Francis Poulenc’s expressive Organ Concerto in G minor, the renowned Latvian organist Iveta Apkalna unleashes the radiant sonic power of the organ at the Konzerthaus Berlin.
