Wu Yumin was introduced to classical music at the age of two and began piano lessons at six. He studied at the Central Academy of Music in Beijing.


At 18, he was accepted to the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin and completed his concert exam at the Berlin University of the Arts. At 19, he won first prize at the Cantù International Piano Competition in Italy. Since then, he has performed regularly in Italy, Germany, and other countries.

In 2025, he completed his concert exam in piano at the Dresden University of Music and presented world premieres of his piano solo arrangements of symphonies in Berlin and Dresden: Tchaikovsky's Francesca da Rimini and Mahler's Second Symphony, Resurrection. The arrangements were highly praised.

Concert performances by Alexander Vitlin, both as a conductor and pianist, always elicit enthusiastic responses from audiences.

He completed his musical studies as a conductor at the Leningrad Conservatory under Professor Ilya Mussin and as a pianist under Professor Vladimir Nielssen. From 1994 to 2025, Alexander Vitlin held a professorship in vocal coaching and conducting at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin. Since 2025, he has taught opera coaching at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.

Alexander Vitlin is the author of several orchestrations of works by Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Kreisler, and others.
