NoonSong featuring choral music by J.S. Bach and his students

In this summer NoonSong, Sirventes Berlin performs masterful and unique choral music by Johann Sebastian Bach. His student G.A. Homilius reinterpreted the master’s legacy in the style of the Empfindsamkeit. A generation later, Chr. H. Rinck, a student of Bach’s own students, had already embraced the Romantic style without abandoning his connection to Bach’s music.

Liturgy: 5th Sunday after Trinity

  • Preces: Kenneth Leighton (1929–1988): Preces & Responses
  • Psalm of the Day: Psalm 70 Gottfried August Homilius (1714–1785): Domine ad adiuvandum me
  • Weekly Psalm: Psalm 73:23–25 Johann Christian Heinrich Rinck (1770–1846): Herr, ich bleibe stets an Dir (op. 127)
  • Canticum: Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750): I Will Not Let You Go Unless You Bless Me (BWV Anh. 159)
