NoonSong: Jubilation and Wonders - Music from a Distant Time

The church on Hohenzollernplatz provides the ideal setting for a performance of clear and powerful melodies by Anglican composers for choir and organ. The musical performance evokes the atmosphere of famous English cathedrals. Herbert Howells’ music is characterized by a special intensity and a deeply moving quality. NoonSong—what is it? 

Every Saturday at noon, locals, visitors to Berlin, music fans, and architecture enthusiasts gather for NoonSong. It is both a concert and a church service, developed from the Anglican Evensong. Eight professional singers from the vocal ensemble sirventes berlin perform choral music under the direction of Stefan Schuck. The repertoire ranges from Renaissance music to contemporary compositions.
