KNM CONTEMPORARIES – music for distinct personalities
On the occasion of Morton Feldman’s 100th birthday, Ensemble KNM Berlin presents a large-scale performance of his late work “For Samual Beckett” in Radialsystem. The focus of this two part 8th edition of KNM CONTEMPORARIES is on music dedicated to a specific person.
In contrast to his opera “Neither”, Feldman’s last major work was not based upon one of Beckett’s texts. However, just like Beckett’s writing, this obsessive work is characterised by simultaneous density and clarity, repetitions and overlaps.
20 years after its famous CD recording, Ensemble KNM dedicates itself once more to this epochal work under the musical direction of Roland Kluttig – staying true to Marcel Duchamps’ motto: “Repetition is change.”
